How to sell attribution to a client
Our four-step pitch, our pack to send afterwards, and what to say if they have questions.
The pitch
Ask which channel made them money last month. Most clients guess, and the guess comes from whichever platform report they read last.
Bring a journey from a client already on Trace, or the one in the sample report. One conversion, every touchpoint in order, with the visits Trace saw marked apart from the ones it inferred.
You can add it as its own line, attribution reporting at £250 a month, so the client sees what they are paying for. Or fold it into the retainer and raise the fee, so the report is simply part of working with you.
Schedule the white label report for the first working day of the month, with one line at the top in your words: what you changed last month and what the journeys show it did.

GA tells you the last click. Trace shows the whole path before it, and which parts it saw directly. Bring one of their journeys and show the difference.
No. Trace measures journey patterns, not individuals. No third-party cookies, no profiles, and it is built for the Data Protection Act, UK GDPR, the DUAA and CCPA.
Not one hundred percent, and we will not pretend it is. Trace shows how much of each journey it saw directly and how much it inferred, so you know which numbers to lean on and which to treat as a guide.
This pack is for agencies introducing Trace to a client. The pitch, what to send afterwards, and answers to the questions that come up. Take what is useful and put it in your own words. See how agency plans and pricing work, or what a client gets in a report.
